TakeOver
Hide, hunt and outsmart — out in the real world
Our most innovative game yet — a sport you play with your phone and your legs.
TakeOver is a GPS-based running strategy sport. It isn't our biggest project — it's our most novel and most innovative one. You play it outside, on your feet, with your friends: meet up with 4 to 12 people and take over a park, a stretch of city or an open field.
The app splits everyone into two teams: Hiders and Catchers. Hotspots are scattered at random across a set radius, and the Hiders have to reach and capture them. The Catchers chase them down and have to catch every Hider before the hotspots fall. Your phone is the field of play — real terrain, real distance, real sprinting.
To spice things up, both teams have skills to turn the tide. Reveal the other team's positions on the map for a few seconds, or plant a radio listener to secretly eavesdrop on their voice chat. Every match is a moving puzzle of geography, timing and nerve.
